Bill D. Hicks
For over 20 years, Bill D. Hicks has been practicing law throughout the State of Texas. He began his practice in the hill country outside of Austin, but quickly moved to the great Paso Del Norte area and joined the District Attorney's Office in El Paso, Texas. He worked as an Assistant District Attorney, a Special Assistant United States Attorney (federal prosecutor) and as a special prosecutor for the Metro Narcotics Task Force before he became a State District Court Judge. Judge Hicks presided over the 243rd Judicial District Court in El Paso County where he oversaw felony criminal case and a variety of civil cases before he returned to private practice. Judge Hicks presided in over twenty jury trials. After leaving civil service, now "former" Judge Hicks opened his own law office, the Law Offices of Bill D. Hicks, which he later merged with Ellis and Ortega to form the new law firm, Ortega, McGlashan, Hicks & Perez PLLC. Judge Hicks brings his experience from the bench, as a state and federal prosecutor and as a civil attorney to work for you. This wide range of experience has given Judge Hicks an extensive knowledge of Texas and federal law, which helps his current personal injury, civil litigation and criminal defense clients.
